S.A.C. welcomed the opportunity to provide comments on Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED)’s recent consultation on AI transparency, which will help inform next steps toward advancing safe, responsible and reliable AI in Canada.

S.A.C. emphasized the principles of Authorization, Remuneration and Transparency (ART), and the importance of ensuring that AI systems respect copyright. Human creators should be asked for permission, compensated for the use of their work, and provided with meaningful transparency about how their works are used.
