S.A.C. President Arun Chaturvedi recently participated in a national roundtable discussion hosted by the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of AI and Digital Innovation. The meeting brought together leaders from across Canada’s cultural sector to help ensure that creators’ voices remain central as the country shapes its digital and technological future.
Representatives from the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA), Screen Composers Guild of Canada, Copibec, APFC, AQPM, SOCAN, and the Directors Guild of Canada also joined the conversation—highlighting a united front in protecting the rights of creators across the cultural industries.
The S.A.C. thanks Minister Solomon for engaging meaningfully with the cultural sector and for recognizing the vital human element in creativity and innovation. Intellectual property matters—not only as an economic driver but as a pillar of Canadian cultural identity.
We look forward to continued dialogue and collaboration to ensure creators are not just affected by digital policy but are actively helping to shape it.
