ABOUT THE PERFORMERS – June 2, 2026
Mallory Chipman
Mallory Chipman is an award-winning singer-songwriter-producing living and creating on Treaty 6 Territory in Edmonton, Alberta. A 2026 Solo Artist of the Year nominee at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, Mallory has been making waves with her “profoundly moving” songwriting (Celtic Music Radio Glasgow) within the Canadian music scene and beyond, with touring history across Ireland, the UK, Japan, and a recent performance at the USA Songwriting Competition’s winners showcase in Austin, Texas. Drawing inspiration from themes of place, ephemera, memory, and entangledness, the depth of Chipman’s music is only matched by the swirling levity of her acrobatic voice. Her 2025 EP, the time, has been described as a “masterclass of emotional range and musical craftsmanship” (Happy Mag Australia), and her forthcoming full length album, Court of Hope, will be out in 2027. https://www.mallorychipmanmusic.com
Daniel Sinclair
Raised by musicians who were raised by musicians – Daniel Sinclair is continuing a legacy of prairie-inspired songs. At age of 7, he got his first guitar as a gift from his sister. At the age of 13, he played in the Calgary Folk Festival with family and friends. At 27, he played on stage with Tommy Emmanuel in Nashville, Tennessee. Having lived and played across southern Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, Daniel draws his melodies from the west. He’s played on radio, recorded for film, and he’s performed shows from bars to chapels, from breweries to theaters. https://www.facebook.com/danielsinclairmusic
Ben Worcester
It was two decades ago when Tyler Bancroft and his friend Ben Worcester, both fresh out of high school at Eric Hamber, started writing songs and recording them around the Douglas Park neighbourhood they grew up in. Hence “Said the Whale” was born. As one of the two main writers, along with Tyler Bancroft, Ben and the band have earned their place in the Canadian music pantheon, winning a Juno award and topping the alternative radio chart, amassing a devoted fan base of “SaidHeads”. They have released 8 albums of original music.
