S.A.C. President Arun Chaturvedi recently attended the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights in Geneva, Switzerland.
As an accredited observer to the Committee, S.A.C. is pleased to take part in ongoing international discussions concerning copyright in the digital environment, with a particular focus on generative artificial intelligence and its impact on music creators and other rights holders.
S.A.C. welcomes WIPO’s decision to move forward with a study on AI training and copyright—an initiative the organization has long advocated for. The findings of this study will be presented at the Committee’s next meeting in December 2026.
Through its participation, S.A.C. continues to ensure that the perspectives of songwriters and music creators are represented in global policy conversations shaping the future of copyright.
