Representatives from the Songwriters Association of Canada (S.A.C.) recently attended the 46th session of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) in Geneva, Switzerland.

S.A.C. President Arun Chaturvedi delivered strong remarks emphasizing the urgent need to protect human expression, cultural diversity, and the economic sustainability of music creators in the age of generative AI. He also participated in a panel discussion on the impact of generative AI on the rights of music creators.

The S.A.C. extends its thanks to WIPO and all of our domestic and international partners for ensuring that the voices of music creators are included in these critical global conversations.
