If you’re a songwriter and/or recording artist, it’s important to understand copyright law and the protections available to you.
In this informative online session, we will delve into the rights and income sources available for both musical works and sound recordings. We’ll also cover the key differences between Canadian and American copyright law and provide practical advice on how to protect your music rights in contracts with third parties.
This webinar will be presented by Lisa Whynot, a Toronto-based entertainment lawyer with extensive experience in the United States and Canada. She advises artists, record and publishing companies, and other entertainment professionals on recording, publishing, touring, and licensing agreements. Ms. Whynot has negotiated master use and music publishing licenses for TV, film, and other media.
This webinar is free for S.A.C. members.
