Stephane Moraille (Boucherville, Quebec)

In the midst of a busy musical career that has garnered international acclaim and sent her touring the globe, Stéphane Moraille completed her law degree and was admitted to the Bar in 2001. She has completed her Masters in Intellectual Property Law at York University’s renowned Osgoode Hall Law School. As a soloist attorney, Stéphane Moraille’s practice covers contractual, clearance and corporate aspects of film industry transactions, as well as music and technology. She’s worked on over 300 motion pictures, television series and documentaries produced in Quebec and Canada as well as international productions such as Starbucks, The Young and Prodigious Spivet, Winnie Mandela Starring Jennifer Hudson, Mandela starring and Standoff starring Lawrence Fishburn.

A passionate supporter of creative works, Stéphane Moraille is intrinsically involved with key players in the entertainment industry. An exceptionally skilled communicator, with an intricate and first hand knowledge of the entertainment industry and a dedication to educating dynamic up-and-coming generations, she regularly teaches and conducts conferences on legal and practical issues (Forum Le Droit d’auteur à l’ère numérique, RFAVQ, INIS, Ecole du Show business, le Festival du cinéma international en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, etc.). In addition, she serves as a chair, panelist and speaker at various industry and legal conferences. Stephane sat on the Videofact Board (now MuchFact) from 1999 until 2009, served on the Selection Committee of the Urban Music Association in 2004 and 2005, currently sits on the Main Film Board, a center for independent filmmakers and is a Factor Juror. The recipient of numerous distinctions in the music industry as a former member of Bran Van 3000:  Félix, Juno, Much Music Video Award, SOCAN prize, Canadian Radio Award, Soba Award, her love for the arts is immovable. Recently the label Audiogram signed her as a recording Artist, with strategic placement opportunities through Ubisoft and international distribution with Sony Music.

She enjoys time with her son, developing mobile applications and contemplating the flight of time.
