Biography:
"Think of Taylor Swift but there would be two of her and she would have a lot more soul, mixed with the kind of sibling harmonies that would make The Rankins question whether they are truly related, ask them to play pretty much any instrument under the sun and you have The Command Sisters." - Chris Martin, CBC Radio
Biography
The Command Sisters are young singer/songwriter multi- instrumentalists with a unique sound, hair-raising harmonies and a captivating live show have been stealing hearts from Alberta to Tennessee.
The girls would like to share a little bit about what has been going on in their lives since they were first overheard singing at their Great-Grandma's table...Charlotte and Sarah, last year, had the incredible opportunity to play 8 shows in Nashville, including a one-hour all-original show at the famed Blue Bird Cafe. While in Nashville, they were overheard by producer, David Malloy (41 number one hits) and signed to a publishing/production deal. The result is a 10 song CD that will be released internationally in the next few months. In between 3 trips to Nashville, the girls performed at CBC's nationally televised benefit concert for the victim's of the Slave Lake fire (alongside Johnny Reid, George Canyon, Emerson Drive...). They also did the festival circuit this past summer spending time on the Edmonton Folk Fest and Canmore Folk Fest (U22), Lilac Fest, Lake Chestermere Water Festival and St. Albert Children's Festival stages.
Charlotte and Sarah were also privileged to represent Alberta's youth at a private reception to meet Prince William and Kate last July in Calgary.
The girls also continued with their commitments to sing for the children of Stollery Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and Pilgrim's Hospice as well as fundraisers such as JapanAid, The Huntington Retreat, La Salle Shelter and Kid's Help Phone.
The Edmonton Journal, Songwriter's Association of Canada, Canadian Musician Magazine, Music Now Magazine, Breakfast Television, CBC National TV, Global TV, TelusTV and CTV were kind enough to do a story on the girls' crazy year.
Most recently, Charlotte and Sarah were chosen to represent the new music in Alberta as part of Untapped Alberta (CKUA Radio/ Alberta Foundation of the Arts/ Alberta Music).
The Command Sisters are excited to announce that they upon returning from playing at a private function for the actors of the Sundance Film Festival, they signed a management deal with Scott Siman (previous long-time manager of Tim McGraw) and David Malloy of Nashville.
The girls are so excited as they get ready for their summer tour which includes playing a private reception at the MTV Movie Awards in L.A. and opening for George Canyon at Alberta's OWN Fest.
