Biography:
Steven Hardy is a songwriter, composer, and lyricist whose songs have been recorded by some of Canada’s favourite artists, including Marc Jordan, Murray McLauchlan, John McDermott, and others.
He has composed music for two national award winning television documentaries ("Slippery" and "Lost April"), and his music has been licensed for television in Canada, the U.S.A., Australia, Ireland, and Iceland.
In September, 2004, his song "If Never" was performed by London, Ontario singer Jessie Ross at the Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece, and was featured in the CBC Television Special "Celebrate!".
He has written and produced recordings for Cassandra Hodgins (finalist in CBC Television's "Over the Rainbow"), Sonja Gustafson (runner-up in BRAVO's reality television series "Bathroom Divas"), Mandy Carter (CBC "Rock Your Campus" semi-finalist) and others.
He is the inaugural recipient of the SOCAN Advanced Songwriters Workshop Award.
In September, 2016, he was featured by the Songwriters Association of Canada after receiving a perfect score for his song “Is It Just Me?”
He holds an Honors Degree in Theory and Composition from the University of Western Ontario.
