Get to Know Me

It was never my intention
To capture your attention
Trust me
I just came to party
And I can tell by your voice
And your word choice
That you are looking
To get lucky

Buddy I know
You want the key to the candy shop
You want a lick of that lollipop
Now I don’t want to be mean
But I don’t run game like it’s Halloween

I ain’t no trick and I don’t give treats
So if you like what you see
Maybe you should get to know me
You think you’re so slick being such a tease
Well if you like what you see
Maybe you should get to know me

You are good looking
But I know you’re cooking
Up a devious plan
Yeah I am guarded
Been left broken hearted
By too many one night stands

Buddy I know
You want the key to the candy shop
You want a lick of that lollipop
Now I don’t want to be mean
But I don’t run game like it’s Halloween

I ain’t no trick and I don’t give treats
So if you like what you see
Maybe you should get to know me
You think you’re so slick being such a tease
Well if you like what you see
Maybe you should get to know me
Get to know me
Maybe
Maybe
If you really want me
Maybe
Maybe
Maybe you should get to know me
Maybe
Maybe
If you really want me
Maybe
Maybe
Just just maybe

If you want me
For more than just my body
Let me know
Temptation is there
But if you hit it will you still care
Let me know

I ain’t no trick and I don’t give treats
So if you like what you see
Maybe you should get to know me
You think you’re so slick being such a tease
Well if you like what you see
Maybe you should get to know me
Get to know me
Maybe
Maybe
If you really want me
Maybe
Maybe
Maybe you should get to know me
Maybe
Maybe
If you really want me
Maybe
Maybe

I ain’t no trick and I don’t give treats
So if you like what you see
Maybe you should get to know me
You think you’re so slick being such a tease
Well if you like what you see
Maybe you should get to know me

It was never my intention
To capture your attention
Trust me
I just came to party

Buddy I know
You want the key to the candy shop
You want a lick of that lollipop
Now I don’t want to be mean
But I don’t run game like it’s Halloween

Biography:

Everything about Toronto artist, Spyke Swenson, is unconventional—and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Like most of us, as a child Spyke dreamed of being a pop star, but unlike most of us, he decided to take action as soon as his 12th birthday hit. That was the first time he put pen to paper, and the result was a pop song about being Canadian, complete with some stereotypical, sarcastic “eh’s” just for the fun of it. That’s Spyke though—everything he does, he does with full-force, intensity, and an unbridled passion, but at the end of the day, take a listen to any of his tracks and you instantly realize this is someone who oozes excitement at the pop industry. It’s more than a fascination—it’s an obsession. One Spyke Swenson boldly recognizes and embraces.
“I've always loved the confidence exuded in a lot of pop music. I've always been very shy and cautious and they seem to throw all of that to the wind. Plus, I'm a sucker for catchy hooks and synthesizers.”
It’s this tenacity that has led him to audition for television staples Canadian Idol and Canada’s Got Talent, and to record and release two EPs– 2013’s One In A Billion and 2016’s Immaturity.
With hooky pop sensibilities reminiscent of Owl City, 3OH!3 and Metro Station, Spyke Swenson is preparing himself for world domination, Scott Pilgrim style: awkward but still a bad ass in his own right. Just the right brand of quirky for what the music world needs, Spyke has the power to keep listeners questioning his next move all while proving that he has what it takes to rise above the struggles of the industry.
With plans to expand on his sound while keeping a steady flow of music to release, Spyke hopes to someday work with the producers who have helped craft his favorites from Michael Jackson to Daft Punk to Marina and the Diamonds, demonstrating that there’s never a goal too small if you just keep on running.
