Biography:
Shirley has been a mainstay in the Nova Scotia music scene for over 30 years as a song writer, saxophone player, guitarist, percussionist, music educator and band leader. As the recipient of two Maple Blues Awards, four ECMA nominations, four Music Nova Scotia Nominations; Shirley Jackson continues to present her songwriting with various arrangements from the six piece band Shirley Jackson & her Good Rockin' Daddys down to an acoustic duo with Shirley Jackson on vocals, guitar, and tenor sax accompanied by her son, Jef Wirchenko, on bass.
Shirley has been an active member in the Moja Makani Band performing the 'Rhythms of Life' multi media theatre performance live and on DVD as well as an honorary member of the Frank Mackay & The Lincoln's horn section.
