Songwriter and guitar specialist Micheal Lander is preparing to release his first selection of songs. After over two decades of study he is ready to expand his musical direction.
Micheal’s love of music was readily apparent from a young age. Hailing from the Lower-Mainland of British Columbia while spending time in small town Alberta, Micheal was fortunate enough to attend the only high school in Western Canada to have a recording studio.

Micheal takes his stories from living in small town Alberta and big city BC while mixing in a taste of thought provoking lyrics. He's spent a solid 24 years playing Country Music, Classic Rock, Blues and more. Immersed in musical theory and armed with a desire to perform, Micheal attended various workshops and participated in projects that were taught and directed by Juno Award winning musicians Brad Turner and Hugh Fraser. Most recently, his song “Long, Cold Run” was a Top 25 Finalist in a Canadian Songwriting Competition. He also contributed his time as the Treasurer of the Saskatchewan Country Music Association(SCMA).

Music and the performing arts are not just hobbies for Micheal, it is evident in all areas of his life. After playing and teaching music for many years while obtaining a Journeyman's Ticket as an Auto-body Tech., he decided to turn his passion into a career by completing both a degree and certificate in Small Business and Entrepreneurship so as to gain the skills necessary to bring his dedication of the performing arts to the great community of Saskatoon. In 2004, Micheal created Twelve String Studios to offer music education for students in the areas of guitar, piano, and voice. Since that time, Micheal has expanded his business to three locations, including a dance school. These businesses together form the Studio XII Music & Dance Company which provides music and dance education for students from pre-school age to adulthood.
