A river runs through this heart

A river runs through this heart – In memory of Cameron Rhule by Lynn Mantle
A river runs through this heart
On a path to who knows where
Through the pain, the joy, the sorrow
Happiness and great despair

Don’t look for me in the darkness
Cuz I’m no longer there

Everything’s gonna be alright, don’t worry
Just give it time
Everything’s gonna be alright, don’t worry
I know I’m a part of your heart-like you’re a part of mine

Everything’s gonna be alright

Love knows no barriers
Not death, not life, not time
That’s why my journey and yours
Are forever intertwined

So don’t you look for me in the darkness
The light’s your place and mine

Chorus

Don’t let the silence over take you
Or the sadness break your song
Let the sorrow remind you to rejoice
With the peace that comes along

So don’t you look for me in the darkness
Cuz I’ve already gone
A river runs through this heart
Our love goes on and on

Chorus, out

C'mon everybody - A song for my mother

C'mon everybody - A song for my mother
By Lynn Mantle
Everybody's looking for a way
To get through the pain
That we all suffer everyday
But few search to find
What's in their hearts and minds
Too often times
We stumble, we fall
It happens to us all
We feel alone
Feel we can't go on
Fearing that too soon
The end is near
Which direction leads to happiness
The course unclear
We search our minds
When most often time
The answers we seek
Lie in our heart
It's time we make a start
CHORUS
Come on everybody
Let's move this thing along
This thing that we all got
Let's let love rain from the sky
What's inside we must no longer hide
Come on everybody
Let's move this thing along
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon
Together we are oh so strong

Come on my sisters
Let's move this thing alone
You're beautiful and strong
Listen to your heart's sweet song
Come on my brothers
Let's move this thing along
The bond between you and I
Will never die
Come on my mother
Help me move this thing along
Beautiful and wise, the sage
With the little girl inside
Come on my father
Help me move this thing along
You no longer have to hide
That sweet softer side
Come on my children
Let's move this thing along
That light you hold inside
Was meant to shine
CHORUS
In these dark places
Where we feel the words
That pierce like daggers
In these jagged, torn spaces
We all keep carrying along
And they cut us as we move
Further and further away
From the very thing that will
Save us all in the end
Love's beautiful light
Ain't out of sight
The flame's still burning bright
For all who wish to see
For all who long to be free
Cast from your mind
Those who criticize
Try to keep you in chains
Bind you in fear
The end of heartache is near
CHORUS
Cast off your anger
For it only serves
To draw you further away
From life's eternal cure
Why's it take so long
For us to realize
Love's where the answer lies
Loves where the answer lies
Come on let's move this thing along
From darkness into light
We all must fight
Come on, come on
Let's move this thing along
This thing that we all got
This thing that makes us weak
It's the very same thing that makes us
Oh so strong
Come on everybody let's move this thing along
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon
Together we are oh so strong

I only wanted you

I only wanted you by Lynn Mantle
First time I ever laid eyes on you
Something in my heart just new
You were always slightly out of reach
But I had to follow my heart’s lead
Chasing after you
My friends called me a fool
Chorus
I only wanted you
Only wanted to
Give you everything I got
Only wanted love
Prayed to the stars above
That one day I might be enough
It’s crazy but it’s true (I only wanted you x2)
First kiss confirmed what my heart already knew
You were meant for me, I was made for you
But you were just playin’, killin’ time
Love was the last thing on your mind
I gave my heart to you
Then you found somebody new
Chorus
2) I only wanted love
Only wanted time
To look into your heart
And show you mine
So much has changed but my feelings are the same
Saw you with her, what is it I ain’t got?
And every time our eyes met you just looked away
Wonder if you worried what your eyes might say
And all I’m wanting now
Is the will to walk away some how
Chorus
Tonight I wished upon a star
That where ever you are
I hope you’re happy with what you got
That someone’s loving you a lot
It’s crazy but it’s true (I only wanted you x2)

If the blues are gonna get us

Sooner or later by Lynn Mantle
I know you’ve been around the block at least a couple times
And there’s far less than six degrees between your life and mine
But if we could just toss all of our doubts aside
Oh maybe, a little peace might come to find us

Chorus
If the blues are gonna get us
If the blues are gonna get us
Sooner or later
Let’s save em for later

We’re all tangled up in threads from very different lives
Yet somehow our paths end up so intertwined
So who knows what’s ahead, what adventures we’ll come to find
Ah but who cares, I’d rather go it blind

Chorus X2

Love transcends everything crosses through space and time
On a distant galaxy they’ve a love like yours and mine
So if we just hold to each other I know we’ll be just fine
Oh Darlin’, let’s just enjoy the ride

Chorus X2

Let’s save em for later

[Lyrics]

Let the music play

Let the music play

Whenever there is sorrow
Wherever there is pain
Let the music in
And soon you will begin
To see the sun shine through the rain

When you’re feelin’ all alone
Like your heartache has no end
When your mind’s so full of fear
Wish you could just disappear
Let the music be a friend

Chorus
Let the music play
Let our voices soar
Music is a friend
Right there with you to the end
*A path just waiting to explore

When trouble seems to find you
You feel the darkness deep within
Pour your heart out in a song
And know it won’t be long
Before you feel the change begin

Chorus X2
Let the music play
Let our voices soar
Music is a friend
Right there with you to the end
A path just waiting to explore

Let the music play
Let our voices soar
Music is a friend
Right there with you to the end
The voice inside you can’t ignore

Bridge
In this ever changing world
Oh, in these troubled times
Music is the key
To every possibility
You’ve been dreaming of

So let the music play
Let our voices soar
Music is the key
To every possibility
That we’ve been searching for
Music is a friend
Right there with you til the end
The voice inside you can’t ignore

Biography:

I am a Toronto based singer songwriter, just returning to music full-time after many years doing other things-paying the bills-raising my sons on my own. Really excited to be back at music and writing full-time.I have been writing since I was a young girl and had my first song published at age 17, “Motivate Yourself”, written with Robert Ironside.. That same song was later also used in a TDSB film. Although I continued to write over the years, the past decade has by far been the most fruitful, with well over a hundred viable songs to show for it. I write in all genres and mostly on my own but I really enjoy writing with others as well.
Being the daughter of a professional, established singer/songwriter – the late Arlene Mantle-I took to writing quite naturally and so it was only recently that I began to explore songwriting from a more technical approach. I attended SongStudio last year-my first ever opportunity to learn about song structures, etc. More recently I participated in the SAC 6 songs in 6 weeks Songwriting Challenge 2014. My passion for songwriting has been reignited with the new knowledge I am continuing to gain through workshops and collaborations and pushing the boundaries. I am very much interested in collaborations in writing, recording and live performance and especially interested in licensing and placement opportunities. I have many songs penned with other artists in mind and hope to find interested artists to take them on.
