Songs by Liam Kinnon

Won't Pretend

Verse 1
You said you never let someone so close
Now they’re just a suitcase full of clothes

You said it hurts, yeah it hurts like hell
You just want to fall on someone else

I want to be the one you fall on
But I want to be so much more

Chorus
So wait
You don’t want to be alone again
But something’s coming to an end
Yeah this is love and I will not pretend
I promise I could start your heart again
It kills me if we’re only friends
‘cause this is love and I will not pretend

Verse 2
I swore I wouldn’t be the one to wait
Just watching from a glass case

And if we both know I’m the only one
Why do you keep giving out your love

I want to be the one to hold your heart
I don’t care if it’s covered in scars

Biography:

Writing songs since age four, Toronto-born singer/songwriter Liam Kinnon has been playing guitar, bass and piano with bands and as a solo performer in clubs, bars and churches. In 2012, Liam toured the East Coast opening for Juno Award-nominated singer/songwriter Don Amero. Thanks to Liam’s enthusiastic fans, he most recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign to record his latest EP, “Better Halves.” He shared these songs at this year’s SongStudio workshop and had the honour of being voted by fellow songwriters to perform at Hugh’s Room backed by an all-star band including guitar virtuoso and former Triumph band member, Rik Emmett.

With song stylings compared to John Mayer, Dave Matthews and Tracy Chapman, Liam’s acoustic folk pop melodies and authentic lyrics move listeners’ bodies and souls.
