Goodbye

Hold me and then just walk away
Don’t turn around just leave me
I will not cry or beg you to stay
Love of my life Goodbye

I can’t seem to speak and I can’t seem to breathe
And everything around keeps moving
Don’t try to make me smile, don’t tell me how to feel
All your happy words just wound me, wound me

I’m not the first, won’t be the last
To hang by my heart completely
Pain is just pain, this too shall pass
Love of my life Goodbye

I can’t seem to speak and I can’t seem to breathe
And everything around keeps moving
Don’t try to make me smile, don’t tell me how to feel
All your happy words just wound me, wound me

To take the risk and bear the cross
Better to have loved and lost

I will not cry or beg you to stay
Love of my life Goodbye – Goodbye - Goodbye

I Thought I Knew

Verse 1:
I thought I knew
He'd had a hard life
Grown up alone and aloof
Whatever pain I could take from him
You know I was happy to do
Pre-Chorus:
I thought I knew - Love was the healer
I thought I knew - It would all turn out right
Chorus:
So many misconceptions
So many ways to fall
How did I miss the signals
I thought I knew them all
This man whose dreams I built on
This man I knew so well
I thought I knew him deeply
I thought I knew myself
Verse 2:
I thought I knew
I could light up his dark days
I'd be his rock, tried and true
He took my strength - he found my weakness
He thought that he'd take that too
Pre-Chorus:
I thought I knew - If I gave a bit more
I thought I knew - Love would make it alright
Chorus:
So many misconceptions
So many ways to fall
How did I miss the signals
I thought I knew them all
This man whose dreams I built on
This man I knew so well
I thought I knew him deeply
I thought I knew myself
Bridge:
You never know until you get there
You never can, never can, never can tell
Who'd have thought
I'd be picking up pieces of myself
Chorus & outro

Question Marks

Lord, challenge me
Here I am a lonely traveller
Stopped to lay my burden down
I came across a thought that shattered
Suddenly my world turned round
And then I opened my eyes and smiled
And the world seemed bright
I saw you in the love that rises
I saw you in the question marks

Lord Burden me
I trust you when I lose my way, Lord
Somehow I know you’re close at hand
I’ve heard that you are tree and river
You are both the mountain and the sand
I hear you in the thunder crashes,
Feel you in a lover’s cry
I see you when the lightning flashes
Sing you in a lullabye
And even in the pit of grieving
Still a little glimmer glows
I see you in the cruel and stark
I see you in the question marks

Lord challenge me
Not asking for an easy answer
Not asking you to pull my load
I’m looking for the things that matter
I find them as I round the bend to home
I know that truth lies gray
There are things I cannot change
I’m looking for grace to guide me
No, I’m not running from the pain
And then I open my heart and smile
And the light comes shining through
I see you in the love that rises
I see you in the question marks.

Ridiculous

RIDICULOUS
© 2015, Jennifer Noble - Words & Music
VERSE 1
The say opposites attract,
You know we got that you and me
I’m your scissors, you’re my rock
Flash that quiet smile I’m lost
This is where I wanna be
PRE-CHORUS
But now you’re showin’ up everywhere
You’re getting all in my hair
You say I’m gone too long
I’m doin’ everything wrong
You say I’m not the same
And now you’re calling me names…
CHORUS
Don’t tell me I’m ridiculous
Just cause you can’t handle us
Cause I know that I’m big and bold and beautiful
Wild and free and wonderful
And if you can’t understand me
I will let you go
And that’s ridiculous…
Oh, that’s so ridiculous
VERSE 2
I can’t live in shades of grey
I’m thinkin’ no way – n-n-no, no
All the good things that you are
Swirl around inside my heart
I don’t want to let you go
PRE-CHORUS
But now you’re suddenly someone else
You want me all to yourself
Your love is jagged and rough
And nothing’s ever enough
And I would love you through time
But now you’re crossin’ a line…
CHORUS
Don’t tell me I’m ridiculous
Just cause you can’t handle us
Cause I know that I’m big and bold and beautiful
I still think you’re wonderful
But if you can’t really love me
I will let you go
And that’s ridiculous…
Oh, that’s so ridiculous
Oh, ridiculous
