Songs by Alexandra Willett

Always Will

Sittin’ ‘round waiting for your call
When I don’t even know if I want it at all
Deep down I know that I’ve been hurt
Past the point of no return

Didn’t want to see you smile today
Didn’t want you to smile and laugh with me
But deep down I know that you still hurt
From the promise I threw in the dirt

Why do I crave you still?
This cup of tears is threatening to spill
Just thought I’d fill you in
I love you...
and always will

I hope your wildest dreams come true
I hope you, become the man within the boy I see in you
Deep down I wish that I could be
More than the step you took to start to feel

Don’t be afraid to let it all shine through
To want something and do what you have to do, to get it
‘Cause deep down you’ll never satisfy
If you’re a passive actor in your own life

Can think of no other but you
My heart is broken, in two Just thought I’d let you know
I love you...
and always will

Can think of no other but you
My heart is broken, in two Just thought I’d let you know
I love you...
and Always Will.

10 cups of coffee later
I still don’t know what makes her
Better than me, I just don’t see
You’ve got, 20 good reasons to choose her
You made a list and then compared her
Compared her to me, apparently

And I ask myself:
Why do you fall in love x2 so easy
Cause falling out of love x2 ain’t easy
No, no, no.

10 stops of subway later
Listening to the rhythm of water
Just like the tears, I might need a beer
I got, 20 good reasons not to go there
The memories will strip me and leave me bare
But I just don’t care

10 shots of whiskey later
My world spins but it’s not the liquor
It’s cause you’re not next to me
I’ve nowhere to lean

Why do you fall in love x2 so easy
Cause falling out of love x2 ain’t easy

And falling in love is cruel x2
When the other runs out of fuel, oh
You made me look like a fool, now I’m looking like a fool
I’m covered in ridicule
I’m caught in this Whirlpool

10 hours of sleep later
I still think you could’ve done, better.

Alexandra Willett is a Canadian singer-songwriter of acoustic folk pop style with influences from jazz, indie, and rock. Her francophone roots emerge in her expressive lyrics that confirm her storyteller disposition. A remarkable vocalist, Alexandra seems to have an endless energy on stage that never fails to captivate an audience.

The artist has been singing for as long as she can remember, and started writing songs at a very young age. A few years later, Alexandra began learning guitar to accompany herself and hasn’t stopped playing since. Since then, she has acquired a Jazz Music Diploma from Québec and a Musical Theatre Diploma from British-Columbia. Being in theatre and on the West Coast allowed Alexandra to further develop and refine her unique style to what it is today.

Alexandra has been known to perform at La Bavaroise in Nicolet, QC, the B-Side Lounge in Toronto, ON, and even at the Zodiac Sessions in Dublin, Ireland. Her greatest joy is to be able to connect with people through music and to share her passion with whoever might listen. Her first single "Tip Toe" was played on CBC Music Radio across the country, and her EP of the same name is set to release Feb. 28th, 2020.
