Greg Stephens is an arts and entertainment lawyer specializing in music, film, Internet and television. He was previously a professional musician and songwriter signed to Capital Records in Los Angeles and Hypnotic Records in Canada. Greg, through his own law firm, now represents many of Canada’s top musicians, songwriters and producers. He also advises indie record labels, managers, booking agents, film and television producers, media companies and publishers.

He is a frequent speaker, guest teacher and panellist at conferences, schools and professional organizations. As a founding director of the Canadian Independent Recording Artists’ Association, Greg Stephens is also interested in rights societies, collectives, funding and regulatory agencies and developing politics and proposed business models being developed and debated in the quickly changing landscape of this digital age.
