Dan Hill – Anatomy of a Hit, Demo Evaluations
Was born in Toronto in 1954 to American
Parents who, as an interracial couple, moved to Canada to escape the twin
scourges of Racism and McCarthyism. Dan grew up listening to Frank Sinatra,
Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. He credits Sinatra as a primary
influence in terms of delivery and phrasing. He began writing songs at age 14 and was playing
professionally in small gatherings and coffee houses by the time he reached 17.

often hilarious and poignant detail, in his newly released memoir: “I Am My

Has always been interested in media. First
earning a Radio Broadcasting diploma from Fanshawe College and then a Multimedia
Post Graduate Degree at Humber College. He landed a job at BMG in ‘99
designing websites; but, with his interests leaning toward video and editing he
built a position for himself shooting behind the scenes footage and editing it
for the web. Chad has worked for Universal Music and has worked at Sony
Music for the past 6 years. Chad has had the opportunity to interview many of
his rock star idols and shoot their live concert footage.

Grant can be heard throughout the week on various CBC Radio One programs such
as DNTO, Spark, All Points West, On The Coast, and various
afternoon programs across the country, and has been a frequent past contributor
to Q and Sounds Like Canada. He was lead
singer of the internationally acclaimed Vancouver band The Smugglers.

Evaluations
Is a songwriter, singer and recording artist with several albums
to her credit including her latest "Gem and I" which was
released in September 2010. She has been nominated in the Best New
Artist and twice for Best Pop Album at the Juno Awards, has been
awarded the CMPA songwriting scholarship and won The Mix 99.9 National
Songwriting Contest. Emm has toured and collaborated with Jann Arden, Ron
Sexsmith, The Cardigans, David Bowie, Josh Ritter and many others. She runs a
label, Dead Daisy Records, to which she signed In-Flight Safety and Royal Wood.
In the 20th anniversary edition of Q Magazine, Bono cited her song “Almighty
Love” as one song from the last 20 years that he wishes he had written. Emm lives in Southwestern Ontario with her husband Sean and her new son,
Ronan.
